General Information and Work History:
Before becoming a psychologist Dany worked as a sports coach with children, adolescents and families. Dany’s career path turned after her son suffered a traumatic brain injury. This event sparked a passionate interest in human behaviour with a special interest in children and adolescents who struggle with behavioural, social, emotional and learning difficulties; as well as overall family functioning. Dany has since worked in areas of cognitive and academic assessments (both adult and children), individual and family counselling.
Areas of Interest:
Dany’s area of interest is in child and young people’s assessments with a focus on anxiety, school refusal, social problems and children with a lack of confidence and poor self-esteem. Dany also assesses for ADD and ADHD.
Dany strives to be an effective provider of psychological services and interventions, in order to support and promote children of all ages, and their families in overcoming barriers to learning, emotional, behavioural and social concerns. She works collaboratively with family members, schools and school personnel (when required) along with relevant agencies and communities members. She endeavours to foster overall well-being with meaningful and practical solutions to optimise each child’s learning potential, and promote best family functioning.
Dany also offers parent(s) family counseling and parenting skills support.
Dany is also able to provide one on one counseling and programs for children following the assessment process.
